Yosemite National Park is one of the most incredible places to visit in the world. With soaring cliffs, roaring waterfalls, and miles of stunning mountain scenery, the vast wilderness is special place I find myself visiting often. When visiting Yosemite, having a nice accommodation for relaxation, preparation for the beautiful hiking trails in Yosemite, and rejuvenation is part of the magical experience when visiting the park. Yosemite Lodging Choices

When planning a trip to Yosemite — here’s a guide for beginners— there are several lodging options to choose from. There are:

  • Airbnb near Yosemite
  • Yosemite camping
  • Hotels near Yosemite
  • Cabins to rent in Yosemite

For those wanting to camp, Yosemite Valley has an abundance of camp sites. They have cabins and heated tents available for those avid hikers visiting national parks during the winter.

Prefer a hotel? There are plenty of hotels near the South Gate in Oakhurst, and some in the park. If you’re looking for unique and homey stays, I recommend some of the Yosemite Airbnbs listed below. Ultimately, each of the lodging choices are excellent options, as they each provide different experiences and amenities.

If you are looking for quietness and seclusion, then look no further than this lovely Airbnb home. This quaint stay is an introvert’s paradise with a small one bedroom home located on 3 beautiful acres. The property has a year round creek running through it, allowing you to enjoy the gurgling brook any time of the year.

Miami Creek Airbnb features a comfy queen sized bed, a 50 inch TV, reliable WiFi, a full kitchen, and a fully equipped living space. It’s a comfy and quiet stay offering a retreat for quality rest and relaxation.

Pack your favorite travel essential oils like peppermint or ginger oil, to promote even more relaxation after exploring the national park.

Yosemite Airbnb Micro Cabin

Price per night: $89

Distance to Yosemite Park South Gate: 20 miles

Location: Ahwahnee, California (close to Oakhurst and Fish Camp)

This Yosemite Airbnb is a unique and charming stay just outside of Oakhurst, California. It’s close to the South Gate entrance approximately 20 miles away. These intimate quarters (micro cabins) are fashionable yet minimalist, helping you to feel luxurious while also connecting you to nature.

In addition, the bathrooms are detached and located near the pool, making this a ideal summer get away. Inside the micro cabin you’ll find a memory foam queen bed, reliable and fast WiFi, and gorgeous LED lighting. There aren’t any food prep spaces, private bathrooms, and TVs in the room, but you can still cozy in to watch something on your phone or laptop after spending the day hiking in the park.

Bring your own snacks (here’s my go-to hiking travel snacks), then relax in these charming, luxurious, small yet mighty cabins.

Location: Mariposa, California

Distance to Arch Rock Entrance: 41 miles

The Winemaker’s Cottage features a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom private cottage with a fully stocked kitchen, queen beds, a cozy living space, a Smart TV with RokuTV, and a plethora of outdoor amenities. On the beautiful grounds is a bocce ball pit, a horseshoe pit, a large outdoor dining table, and stunning nature views from the outdoor deck. The kitchen is spacious, beautiful and welcomes all chefs.

Stay warm on a cold day after exploring Yosemite, by turning on the gas fireplace to warm up this cozy cottage. With so much to offer, this place is ideal for those looking to spend some time outside of Yosemite, exploring downtown Mariposa (10 miles away) and relaxing in nature.

Price per night: $275

Location: Wawona, California (inside the park)

Distance to Yosemite Valley: about 45 miles

For travelers with a higher budget, there are several rentals inside the borders of the park to choose from. However, one of the best I recommend is the BeetleBark Bungalow in Wawona — a recently remodeled mini cabin located only 45 minutes from Yosemite Valley.

This comfy cabin offers a wide array of amenities to cultivate the ultimate rest and relaxation for its visitors. The rustic feel is accentuated by the modern amenities, while the hardwood plays against clean modern lines. Here are some of its features: new pullout sofas, comfy beds, soft sheets, a jacuzzi, a grill and back patio, an outdoor fire pit, a fully stocked kitchen, a washer and dryer, and a 50” Smart TV.

Imagine indulging in some self care after a long day of intense hiking and witnessing iconic sites like Half Dome, Cathedral Peaks and Bridalveil Falls.

The Loft @ 1850

Price per night: $109

Location: Mariposa, California

Distance to Arch Rock Entrance: about 30 miles

Near the Arch Rock Entrance Gate and El Portal, lies the Yosemite Airbnb, Downtown Mariposa — a charming BoHo designed loft. The style is relaxed with a modern twist, and sparkling clean with a cozy ambiance. It’s built over top of the Restaurant 1850 and run by its owners. You can order food downstairs and join the locals, or take your plate to-go heading upstairs to relax and watch a movie in your homey Airbnb.

This newly remodeled space offers new mattresses, luxury linens, a fully stocked and prepped kitchen, and a laundry room. Since this loft is in the heart of downtown Mariposa, take a stroll to enjoy the local sights and scenery! Stop by artisanal shops to grab a Yosemite souvenir, indulge in some refreshing ice cream at an eatery. Or grab some groceries and head back to your space to whip up a tasty meal.

Also, a block away you’ll find the YARTS bus stops to take you into Yosemite National Park.

Hiking through Yosemite
One of the many hiking trails in Yosemite — this photo is at Taft Point.

Yosemite is a magical place of stunning natural beauty. These places to stay will make sure you make the most of your time, have a relaxing place to unwind, and help you recharge for the next day.

Keep in mind when visiting Yosemite Park that you’ll want to arrive early (7-9 am during summer, 8-10 am during winter) to find prime parking spots, pack plenty of water, bring your camera, and enjoy the park. If you’re super sore after your first day, try some of these easy yoga stretches to help your body recover faster.

Let me know if you stayed at any of these spots and how your experience was!
